Pasadena, California

Far more than a city adjacent to Los Angeles, Pasadena is a unique combination of being the cultural center of the San Gabriel Valley as well as an important center for technology. Having Cal Tech located there, the city attracts both research and development for major companies whose interest are in space and aircraft design. Even its name helps define this city.

Pasadena literally means 'of the valley', and that valley is beautiful. Early on, it became a resort and winter community for wealthy Easterners and much of its architecture and many events stem back to those days in the late 1800s.

The Tournament of Roses parade began before it had anything to do with football, and is still an event for which the city is known the world over.

Upscale and Hip

Searching for your Pasadena apartment will show you how many options this city offers. You'll definitely want to consider your commute if you have one. If you commute via the Metro, search out places nearest the stops, and if you drive, determine your daily drive time.

South Pasadena is upscale and offers complexes with all the amenities. Old Pasadena is a very hip area these days and many younger people gravitate there. There are bargains to be found in Highland Park but it will take some searching. Whether you opt for a large complex or renting a pool house apartment on residential property, you will love living in Pasadena.

Old Town

Pasadena has wonderful cultural venues. The Norton Simon Museum is world-class museum, housing works from all over the world and all time periods. The Pacific Asian Museum and the Museum of California Art are both amazing and worthy places to spend time. Old Town and the Playhouse district both have many places to see live theatre and for the outdoor enthusiast, there's golf, hiking, biking, swimming and more very readily available.

Fusion Cuisines

Cuisine is Pasadena is as varied as the city itself. Wherever your Pasadena apartment is located, you'll find a selection of both locally owned and chain restaurants for your dining out. Cafe Verde is indicative of some of the fusion type places you'll come across. It is a combination of California style cuisine with a heavy Latino influence.
La Nueva Posada is a locally owned and operated Mexican place where the margaritas are great and you'll always be greeted with a smile.

Hard Core Dancing

Old Town has a big concentration of bars and nightclubs but you can find good nightlife all over the city. Whether you like sports, dive or wine bars, none will be far from your new Pasadena apartment. College types love McMurphy's Tavern for dancing and drinking while the Lounge at Bar Celona spins flamenco and contemporary beats. And if hard core sweaty dancing is the workout you want, definitely stop by Menage. This is a town that rocks at night.
